Verity: 2 Years
Age: 2 years
Weight: 27 lbs - 50%
Height: 31.5 inches - 6%
Eating: This girl LOVES to eat. She's fully on gluten now and so she has the whole world of food at her finger tips...and she will eat it all.
Sleeping: Verity moved into Everly's room a few months back and sleeps well...once she falls asleep that is! She apparently likes to talk and babble for about an hour before she falls asleep. This is cute but slightly annoying for her big sister who would rather just fall asleep.
Accomplishments: Verity is doing pretty much all the usual two year old stuff; complete with tantrums and yelling "no" and "mine". Has all her teeth minus the 2 year old molars. Loves all things Frozen. Speaks in 2-3 word sentences most of the time.
Other Random Stuff: When I took Verity to the doctor for her well visit, I thought she would be my "easy" kid (normally it's Everly that I have to hear about). As it turns out Verity has packed on a lot of weight in the last 6 months (5 lbs!!!) but very little height (only 1/2 inch)... Some of that can be explained; she started grains in those last 6 months so naturally she was going to jump up in pounds just like her sister did and as for the height... well I'm almost certain that the nurse over measured her at the 18 month appt and at the 2 year appt she was measured properly (so if we go by that then Verity actually gained 1 1/2 inches) but she's still short in proportion to her weight. Because of this Verity got to have her first blood draw and x-ray (girl is making strides in the family!) Amazingly she didn't even flinch with the blood draw and even though she had to be all alone for the x-ray (forgot that I couldn't be in there due to being pregnant) she didn't even cry. She was a perfect patient. We got all our results back... she's ever so slightly anemic (which may have to due with her lack of growth) but the big result is that her bones are aged 9-12 months when obviously they should be aged 2 years old. This can mean one of two things; either she has constitutional growth delay (aka late bloomer) which really would mean nothing, just that she will catch up later on in life. But it can also mean she is lacking in growth hormones. Thus we are being referred to Children's to see the pediatric endocrinologist. Both her doctor and I are leaning towards it just being a growth delay (it seems all my kids are this way... either that or they are all lacking growth hormones lol). Oddly we really aren't worried. Verity is perfectly happy and meeting all her milestones...she's just short and chunky.
